Superman Move Serial Poster

To the left is a classic Superman movie serial poster from 1948. The serial was Superman starring Kirk Alyn who was actually the first actor to play Superman on screen. This Superman used a cartoon Superman to simulate the flying sequences. The sequel pitted Superman against the Atom Man. The Atom Man it turns out is really Lex Luthor. You can't help notice the art of this poster. It just looks like a comic book masterpiece. This picture of Superman looks a lot like Christopher Reeve in a way. Of course it would be almost another 30 years before Reeve would take the mantle of the Man of Steel in the blockbuster hit Superman the Movie. Kirk Alyn did a cameo as Lois Lane's father which can only be seen in the latest dvd release of Superman the movie.
