I, Robot is set in 2035, a time when robots are common assistants and workers
for their human owners.
Will Smith stars as Del Spooner, a "robotophobic"
Chicago Police Detective who is investigating a murder in which a robot, Sonny
(Alan Tudyk), appears to be implicated. This would, of course, mean that Sonny
had violated the Three Laws of Robotics, which is supposedly impossible, because
if, robots can break those laws, there's nothing to stop them from taking over
the world. Susan Calvin (Bridget Moynahan), specialist in the psyches of robots,
aids Spooner in his investigation.
