Classic movie It's a Wonderful Life was originally released in 1946. The movie stars Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed. On Christmas Eve, all of the citizens of the town of Bedford Falls pray for help for George Bailey. In heaven it is decided that Clarence, an angel who has yet to earn his wings, to help George. But, first, he should know a little bit about George Bailey. Through flashbacks, Clarence is shown bits and pieces of George Bailey's life. George grew up in Bedford Falls, a small town that he dreams of someday leaving to make his mark on the world. His family's business, The Bailey Building & Loan, is the only thing standing between the good citizens and Mr. Potter, a rich miser who takes pleasure in taking from everybody, without caring how it affects them. George was all set to leave town, but then his father dies, and George has to take over the Building & Loan. George's plans to leave would forever be stymied, and when he loses $8,000 of the Building & Loan's money, he begins to think that he is nothing but a failure and decides to jump off a bridge. It's up to Clarence to convince George that he has had a "Wonderful Life".
